Curt Nyberg has worked with stoneware casting and underglaze decoration techniques for more than 20 years. He is Co-Owner of Artists in The Park - A company known nationally for stoneware commemoratives & their design.
These original & composite sculptures are cast in porcelain and stoneware (Yankee Porcelain) and high fired with hand decorations under the glaze. Unlike the Cold Cast resins and imports, these special editions are limited to less than 200 pieces in number. Because they are REAL high fired clay sculpture, they tend to be more delicate than the polymer statuary available in today's markets. However, 25 years in the commemorative business prompts me to say with complete confidence that these high fired pieces will be infinitely more valuable in the immediate future. The colors are not painted, but fired on under the glaze (or glass coating) This is the way collectable and valuable clay pieces have been made for millennia.
